Canagrosa participates in the Aerospace Direct Mission to Hamburg organised by Andalucía TRADE

A packed schedule of B2B meetings and visits to leading centers such as ZAL, DLR, and Airbus

Hamburg, one of Europe’s leading aerospace hubs, was the destination for the Aerospace Direct Mission organised by Andalucía TRADE, in which we participated alongside a prominent delegation representing Andalusia’s aerospace business community. This initiative has helped strengthen the company’s international profile and provided a firsthand look at the technological capabilities of the German aerospace ecosystem.

The mission included the Andalusian companies AEROSM, Aerotecnic Metallic, Airtificial Aerospace & Defense Engineering, Canagrosa, Indaero, Grupo Sevilla Control, ITE, Mades, MYM Group, Omicron, Sofitec, and Titania, as well as representatives from the Andalucía Aerospace cluster.

On 17–18 March, the delegation carried out an intensive work programme in one of the world’s leading hubs for civil aviation, featuring a highly coordinated ecosystem that brings together more than 300 companies, universities, and R&D centres.

Institutional Agenda and B2B Meetings

The mission included an institutional session held at the ZAL - Center of Applied Aeronautical Research, where presentations were delivered by Andalucía TRADE and the Andalucía Aerospace and Hamburg Aviation clusters.

Additionally, B2B meetings were held between Andalusian and German companies, with customised agendas aimed at identifying synergies and opportunities for collaboration.

Visits to Technology and Industrial Centers

The programme provided an opportunity to explore the key infrastructure of Germany’s aerospace ecosystem. Among these was the ZAL- Zentrum für Angewandte Luftfahrtforschung, one of Europe’s most advanced centres for applied aeronautical research, with over 800 researchers working on hydrogen, robotics, digitalisation, and new materials.

We also visited the DLR - Institute of Maintenance and Modification, which specialises in advanced maintenance processes, optimisation, and future technologies.

In the industrial sector, the delegation toured the Airbus facilities in Hamburg, one of its main production plants, focused on the final assembly of commercial aircraft from the A320 family, as well as cabin outfitting, painting, delivery, and innovation in engineering and development.

The visit concluded at the Airbus centre in Stade, which specialises in composite materials and advanced aeronautical structures.

Assessment of the mission

“This mission has allowed us to experience firsthand one of Europe’s most advanced aerospace ecosystems, as well as identify real opportunities for collaboration with key players in the sector. For Canagrosa, this represents a very significant step in our strategy to strengthen our  international positioning as a European aerospace laboratory,” said Fernando Alarcón de la Lastra, CEO of Canagrosa.

We at Canagrosa would like to thank Andalucía TRADE for organizing the mission and for supporting us throughout the entire itinerary, which allowed us to make the most of this initiative.
