Canagrosa joins GeneraSur to boost open innovation

Introductory meeting aimed at strengthening ties with the Andalusian business ecosystem and opening new avenues for collaboration

Canagrosa hosted a welcome event last Thursday at its facilities to mark its incorporation into GeneraSur, the innovation and business development center promoted by CESUR, the Association of Entrepreneurs of Southern Spain.

The session focused on introducing Canagrosa to the entities that make up GeneraSur, starting with a corporate presentation followed by a technical tour of the facilities. Fernando Alarcón de la Lastra, CEO of Canagrosa, outlined the scope of the company’s services and the added value it offers in terms of reliability, regulatory compliance, and applied innovation.

The meeting was attended by José Manuel González, president of CESUR and GeneraSur; Fernando Seco, executive vice-president of both entities; and Fernando Alarcón de la Lastra, together with members of the management teams from both organizations. The session concluded with a networking session to facilitate idea-sharing and foster future collaboration.

This incorporation represents a significant step in Canagrosa's strategy to strengthen its connection with the Andalusian entrepreneurial ecosystem and consolidate its commitment to open innovation. Collaboration between companies, startups, universities and research centers is key to driving transformative solutions in a constantly evolving technological context.

"Joining GeneraSur means moving in a direction we fully believe in: collaboration as a way to grow, improve, and generate meaningful impact. Technological development requires not only internal excellence, but also strategic alliances with other organizations that are committed to the future," said Fernando Alarcón de la Lastra.

GeneraSur, CESUR’s business innovation center, aims to connect talent, technology, and ideas to transform southern Spain into a benchmark for innovation and progress. Driven by the principle of open innovation, GeneraSur fosters a collaborative space where more than 200 companies, together with academic and scientific institutions, work together to lead change from within the productive fabric.

Canagrosa joined CESUR as a member company in April 2025, as part of its strategy to engage with leading business and innovation platforms. Its incorporation into GeneraSur marks another step in that direction, fully aligned with the company’s core values: quality, technical excellence, and a strong commitment to sustainable development.

As a closing gesture, attendees were presented with a courtesy gift from Bodegas Halcón, as a token of appreciation for their participation.
