Canagrosa identifies new technologies and opportunities at Aerospace Test & Development Show

The event combined the presentation of Canagrosa’s capabilities with the identification of new equipment and solutions for the laboratory

Our participation in Aerospace Test & Development Show 2026 (ATDS), held on 29–30 September in Toulouse, delivered a very positive outcome. Over the two days, we presented our capabilities, established new contacts and explored technologies and solutions of interest to the laboratory.

ATDS is particularly relevant to Canagrosa because it allows us to take part from a dual perspective. We attend as a specialised provider of laboratory and testing services for the aerospace industry, while also acting as a potential customer for manufacturers of equipment, instrumentation and new analytical solutions.

This dual position also enables us to identify equipment and technologies of interest that could help us further improve and expand our laboratory services.

“Activity at the stand was steady throughout the two days. We welcomed companies interested in learning more about our capabilities and held a number of technical discussions. At the same time, we devoted a significant part of the show to exploring new solutions and specialised suppliers first-hand”, explains Sergio Domínguez.

The capabilities that attracted the most interest included materials testing and characterisation, surface treatments, aeronautical fluid analysis and support for MRO activities. There was also interest in our ability to undertake highly specialised testing, low-volume requirements and projects requiring flexibility or short turnaround times.

New technologies to further expand our capabilities

The contacts made during the show helped us identify needs related to highly specific testing, the availability of certain techniques and shorter turnaround times. But one of the most interesting aspects of this edition came from the opposite direction: discovering solutions that could help us respond more effectively to those needs.

We identified equipment and technologies aimed at automating certain tests, improving the sensitivity of specific techniques and reducing analysis times. In other cases, the solutions presented at the show could help us improve existing processes or assess the introduction of new capabilities into the laboratory.

In some cases, discussions are already underway to obtain technical information, explore potential demonstrations, request quotations or assess configurations tailored to our needs.

This technology scouting component has been one of the most valuable aspects of ATDS. The show brings together highly specialised suppliers in one place, making it easier to discover and compare solutions that would otherwise be more difficult to assess directly.

Our participation also generated new contacts with companies that may require Canagrosa’s services and led to technical meetings with manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, instrumentation and testing solutions.

Greater specialisation, faster response and increased automation

The conversations held during the two days point to growing demand for greater specialisation, faster response and the ability to obtain more information from testing in less time.

At the same time, we are seeing the instrumentation market move towards more automated, digital and flexible solutions, designed to improve laboratory productivity and support increasingly complex testing requirements.

“Keeping our capabilities continuously up to date is essential if we are to respond to the needs of an industry as demanding as aerospace. Events such as ATDS allow us to understand how technology is evolving and assess which solutions can deliver real value to our customers and our laboratory,” says Fernando Alarcón de la Lastra, CEO of Canagrosa.

For us, keeping pace with this evolution is part of the laboratory’s own development. Our competitiveness depends on technical expertise, but also on continuously assessing which technologies and solutions can help us improve our capabilities and respond to emerging needs.

The next step will be to follow up on the contacts made during the show and assess which equipment, technologies and solutions could effectively meet the needs of our laboratory and contribute to the continued development of our capabilities.
