Canagrosa receives a visit from the Winter School for Regional Development
The visit, promoted by Andalucía TRADE, is part of this European initiative organized by EURADA, the OECD, and the JRC
Canagrosa welcomed a visit from a European delegation as part of the Winter School for Regional Development, a training initiative organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), through its center in Trento, EURADA (the European Association of Regional Development Agencies) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, held from February 10 to 12 in Seville, with the collaboration of Andalucía TRADE as the host entity.
The visit, promoted by Andalucía TRADE as a member of EURADA since 1992, was attended by nearly 40 representatives of the Winter School, belonging to regional development agencies and territorial actors from different European countries. In this context, the delegation traveled to Aerópolis to learn first-hand about the Andalusian aerospace ecosystem.
The Winter School for Regional Development is an initiative aimed at professionals working in the field of regional development -Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), local, regional, and national administrations, as well as doctoral students and postdoctoral research staff specializing in regional development- with the aim of providing them with tools to operate in a global context marked by uncertainty and rapid change.
Canagrosa and CATEC, entities selected in the Aerópolis environment
Within this framework, Canagrosa has been selected, together with CATEC, to showcase the capabilities, lines of work, and R&D&I projects linked to the aerospace sector, highlighting the role of Aerópolis as a strategic hub for innovation, technology, and international collaboration.
The day at Canagrosa included an initial presentation, followed by a guided tour of different areas of the facilities, covering the production areas, the testing laboratory, and the surface treatment and paint booth area, allowing participants to see the technical and operational capabilities firsthand.
International projection and European aerospace laboratory
This participation is in line with our international projection strategy and reinforces our position as a leading European aerospace laboratory, open to collaboration with European players in the field of research, innovation, and technological development.
In this regard, Fernando Alarcón de la Lastra, CEO, pointed out that "the visit of this European delegation is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the role that Canagrosa plays as a European aerospace laboratory, integrated into the Andalusian aerospace ecosystem and connected to the main innovation networks in Europe. Sharing our capabilities and lines of work with regional development agency officials reinforces our commitment to international collaboration and our dedication to innovation and knowledge transfer".
